Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are separate states (since 2014), each with its own, separate "One State, One RRB" entity effective 1 May 2025: Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank (this page, HQ Guntur, AP) and the distinct Telangana Grameena Bank (HQ Hyderabad, Telangana). One predecessor bank โ€” Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB), which historically operated branches in both states โ€” was split between the two: its Andhra Pradesh branches joined APGB, while its Telangana branches joined Telangana Grameena Bank. Do not confuse the two banks or their head offices.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Leadership โ€” Chairman

Current

K. Pramod Kumar Reddy

Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank โ€” heading the bank since its formation on 1 May 2025. Has since inaugurated new branches (e.g. Bhavanipuram, Vijayawada, March 2026) and presided over customer-facing events including insurance-claim settlements, as reported in the bank's news updates.

Why "Chairman" and not "MD & CEO"?

Under the Regional Rural Banks Act, 1976, an RRB's top executive holds the title Chairman โ€” but for a different reason than at SBI. An RRB's Chairman is typically a senior officer deputed from the sponsor bank (here, Union Bank of India) for a fixed tenure, rather than a permanent employee of the RRB itself. This reflects the sponsor bank's statutory role in staffing and managing the RRB, distinct from SBI's own Chairman title, which stems from the SBI Act, 1955.

This was a genuine 4-way, not a simple rename: four differently-sponsored RRBs (sponsor banks Union Bank of India, Canara Bank, Indian Bank and State Bank of India respectively) were consolidated into one entity now uniformly sponsored by Union Bank of India, as part of the Ministry of Finance's nationwide "One State, One RRB" reform (Gazette Notification S.O. 1625(E), 5 April 2025).

๐Ÿ“Š Financial Disclosures

Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank is a newly amalgamated RRB (effective 1 May 2025) and, unlike listed commercial banks such as SBI, it is not stock-exchange listed and does not publish SEBI-style quarterly results or a multi-year standalone P&L on its own website. Public financial disclosure for RRBs generally comes from three places: the RRB's own (often limited) annual report, sponsor-bank disclosures, and NABARD's sector-wide annual RRB performance report โ€” none of which yet contains a full post-merger, multi-year track record for this specific entity.

What Is Publicly Known

MetricValue (at/around formation, May 2025)
Combined Deposit BaseOver โ‚น30,000 Cr (media-reported figure at the time of the 4-way merger)
Branch Network~1,351 branches across 24 Regional Offices, all 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh
Consolidated Post-Merger P&L / NPA / CRARNot yet published in sources reviewed โ€” APGB has not released a standalone post-merger annual report as of this writing
These figures are compiled from contemporaneous news coverage of the Aprilโ€“May 2025 "One State, One RRB" merger, not from an audited APGB annual report. For authoritative RRB-sector financial data, refer to NABARD's Annual Report / "Statistical Statements Relating to Regional Rural Banks" once it covers this consolidated entity, and to APGB's own official website for any annual report it publishes going forward. Treat any figures shown here as indicative, not as a substitute for the bank's own audited disclosures.
